VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE 2010 COLUMBUS ARTS FESTIVAL

Columbus, Ohio – Applications to volunteer at the 2010 Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable, June 4, 5 & 6 in downtown’s Discovery District are now available.

The Greater Columbus Arts Council seeks volunteers to assist with a variety of duties for this year’s Festival. Applications are being accepted for the following volunteer positions:

• Artists’ Booth Monitor, provide brief breaks for artists as needed

• Hands-On Activities, assist with interactive art activities for children and adults

• Souvenir Sales

• Information Center

• Set-up Crew, assist with tent & table set up, delivering supplies around site, stocking info booths, etc.

To apply, go to www.ColumbusArtsFestival.org or leave a detailed message in the volunteer voicemail box at (614) 221-8072 and a Festival committee member will return your call. Each shift involves a four-hour commitment. Each volunteer receives an event T-shirt and is registered for a raffle prize with each shift.

“Volunteering at the Columbus Arts Festival is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community – not to mention that you get to enjoy some fresh air and see lots of beautiful art,” said Leah Alters, Festival Director.

Recognized as one of the top arts festivals in the country, the Columbus Arts Festival is a juried show, with more than 1,000 artists competing for approximately 230 booth spaces. Continuous entertainment, interactive art activities and great food from area restaurants are also featured. The Columbus Arts Festival is one of city’s largest and most successful events, attracting approximately 400,000 attendees.

The Columbus Arts Festival is presented by Time Warner Cable.
